Our Viticulture Approach
A Return to Natural Practices
We’re an old vine with a renewed soul. We believe in soils that aren’t lobotomized, embracing a long-term vision over short-term enhancements. Ancient practices confirmed by modern science, our regenerative process promotes a holistic approach to soil health and grape growing.
We’re no-till, creating an environment where soil microbes flourish. We’ve eliminated pesticides, herbicides, and non-organic fungicides. None of our wines are treated with enzymes or fining agents. Instead, our winemaking process utilizes native wild yeast from the vineyards. We’ve introduced local wildflower, grasses, and legumes as cover cropping to regulate soil temperature and water retention while boosting soil fertility and pest control.
Nature shapes our path, as the land, animals, and micro-organisms do the heavy lifting to deliver pure terroir characteristics — allowing for the complexities of our wine profile and aromatics to shine through.
You don’t start by farming a crop, you start by farming an ecosystem.
The Vineyard
Due North
We’re a small-acreage vineyard, and proud of it. Tending less than 3 acres, we’re able to provide an extra layer of care and attention to every vine. Located on the southern tip of the Alexander Valley, our unique positioning — a steep, due North slope — delivers a distinct profile that is authentically Vannucci Vineyards.
This orientation allows the cooling night air to fully shut down our grapes each evening, promoting an even ripening. From our uncommon positioning to our regenerative practices that establish a healthy biome, our wines are full of energy and vitality that will keep you going back to your glass.
Premium Partners
Regional Connections
Our vineyard is small in stature, but thoughtfully tended. For varieties we don’t grow on-property, we turn towards our trusted partners who share in our vision of better wines, naturally.
