Thrilled to announce our very first rating (90!) from Wine Enthusiast for our first-ever production of our Vannucci Cabernet Sauvignon.
Aromas of black cherry, capsicum, purple flowers, and cracked pepper highlight the nose of this native fermented Cab. The palate delivers rich tannin and supple acid, with flavors of plum, graphite, chopped herbs, and potpourri before a subtle finish. — Wine Enthusiast

All tastings reported by Wine Enthusiast Buyer’s Guide are performed blind. Typically, products are tasted in peer-group flights of from 5-8 samples. Reviewers may know general information about a flight to provide context—vintage, variety or appellation—but never the producer or retail price of any given selection.
The 2023 vintage was fascinating – a cold winter delayed budbreak and stretched out the growing season. This slower pace allowed for nice flavor development, while mild weather preserved nuance and freshness. We characterize these Cab’s as an ode to classic California Cabernet, before “extraction at all cost” wines became popular in the early 2000’s. Our vineyard was farmed organic, using regenerative farming practices and wild vineyard yeast for our fermentation process. These wines are young, so we’d would encourage decanting or giving them plenty of air after opening. The wines have tremendous aromatics, capturing that fleeting pyrazine character alongside exceptional Cabernet fruit and integrated oak. On the palate, ripe fruit and savory notes intertwine with an ethereal mid-palate weight, leading into a long graceful finish with established tannin.
We’re extremely proud of this rating for our first year and look forward to continuing to thoughtful wines made with intention from our vineyard for years to come. Cheers.
